When Richard Simpson visited the IPE in Atlanta this past January, he was impressed with
the new 12 wide Innova. In March, Richard arranged a trip to Schipper’s Poultry in western
MI with his local Diamond representative Matt Poole, where the prototype was processing
eggs. His son Alex and son-in-law Jake were also on the trip. After seeing the Innova
processing eggs with no one in the candling booth and all the new features, they were
equally impressed and decided to purchase the new grading machine. Simpson’s is located
in Monroe, North Carolina., which is about 25 miles outside of Charlotte. It is very much a
family operation with most of the family including Richard’s mother and father at the plant
6 days a week. The Simpson’s have a very efficient operation and process the eggs from
900,000 white and 40,000 brown chickens each day. With the recent purchase of the
Innova 400, it is the third grading machine they have bought from Diamond. Nothing speaks
better about our commitment to quality than a long time customer. The new machine fit
nicely into their existing building by adding a 28’ X 28’ room on the back of the plant. The new
Innova has many new features including automatic crack, leak, dirt and blood removal. It also
has two new washers with heat exchangers, the new single dryer; wash down scales, 14
AP packers and the new Innova transfer which handles the eggs very smoothly with minimal
loss. The leak removal section features three drop stations. The first one is for leakers, the
second is for dirties, and the third for checks. This system enables the removal of all non
grade “A” eggs in the wash down zone. The machine also has state of the art electronics
and a modem for direct contact with Diamond.
If you are interested in seeing the new Innova system, please call Diamond or your local
representative to arrange a trip at your convenience.
